The placements are approximate. You can see that the Obicularis Oculi and Corrugator muscles are pretty much the same. The Palpebral muscle is not the same. Also, the Orbital Septum which lies behind the Obicularis are differently sized. In a Caucasian, this is shorter and in an Asian longer thus making the crease non existent or just a slight fold. Behind the Orbital Septum is also the Orbital Fat that I mentioned. Since the Orbital Septum is longer, the Orbital Fat extends from the browbone to almost the lid. There is also a longer layer of fat on the browbone area. And, Asians also have an extra layer of fat on the lid area right beneath the skin which blocks the formation of a crease whereas Caucasians do not. This is three layers of fat which sadly as one ages can go in the opposite direction and become hollowed out and sunken in. Some Asians also have an Epicanthal Fold which hides the tear duct.

Anon asked for some advice about eyes, and I… may have gone a bit overboard, ahahaha. I hope it turned out at least a little worthwhile!

This is a great guide!  I’d like to make one small note though—when drawing the pupil in profile in a realistic style, it should be slightly recessed in the iris.

But sometimes it just works to have the pupil right next to the cornea in a cartoony style, so it’s up to you for whatever you’re going for.

Sharing another tutorial for those interested. :)  (I know this isn’t about the female form, but I get a lot of requests for resources on drawing people in general, so I thought for those who might be interested, I’d share it in case they haven’t seen it reblogged yet. :) )

I’m sick, and was not really up to trying to come up with /real/ comic notes to take. So I just drew different animal eyes from my ref folder. These sort of qualify as comic reference though……if you squint.
I’m getting better both drawing & with the tablet. I can tell~ :3
(Yeah. Bamboo Paper again. lol)
