So, I know this is a selfish request, but
Does anyone want to commission me?
I got a speeding ticket and I feel awful. My parents will most likely pay for it, but as I don’t have a job I don’t really have a way to pay them back. Plus, we’re trying to save money so this is a really bad time.
So, um, if anyone would be interested, here are prices that may change:
$2 for Pixel:
Whichever size, I’m not sure.
$4 for simple shaded cg (kind of old sample, sorry):
I know I’m not very good, and I doubt there’s any chance I’d be able to make the $162 I need, but it would be really good if I could make something to help pay my parents back!
To clarify, I take Paypal. I don’t know any other forms of payment, but if you particularly want to pay via another method, tell me!
Thanks for reading! And even if you aren’t interested, if you could reblog at all that’d help!
Gosh!! Such lovely pixel art!
I’ve got a bit of a problem.
My tablet died. I used to have a nice little Bamboo Pen. it wasn’t great, but she survived 2 years, 5 moves cross-country on busses, a toddler, 5 dogs and my constant abuse…but now, she’s in a better place.
The problem with this is, I can’t find a job here. I’ve looked /everywhere/. I’m applying again to the local Wal-Mart because they say they’re hiring, but I’m also trying to find the money to move to Houston and actually get settled somewhere for once.
So, that’s where I’m hoping people around here can come in. I am (for just right now) asking for donations just so I can replace my tablet with one of the mid range Bamboo Connects. They’re $99.99 (with shipping) and, well, that’s a large chunk of change that I don’t have at all. If you donate, whatever it is, I’ll give you a drawing of whatever you’d like as soon as I can draw again as well as pay you back as soon as possible once I find a job.
Drawing is a more recent passion or mine, but a passion nonetheless. I’ve been working on what I hope will be a very long term webcomic that I’d like to launch this summer and there’s still so much work to do and I can’t without a tablet. (There’s only so much work I can do on paper and I can’t even begin to draw with a mouse)
Below are some examples of work I’ve done as well as a link to a Chip-In if you’d like to see them and donate. Either way, thanks for at least taking the time to read this.
Also, seeing as it’s pretty much my fault the tablet is broke, I’ll be doing requests as well once we get a new one. So, you get two requests for the price of one I guess..?
No, that’s not the name of some new punk band, that’s the state of my electronics. My laptop, Anja is old. Very very old. She’s turning 4 in a couple months, actually. She’s aged gracefully though, with her 2.0GHz dual core Pentium and her 4GB RAM and her integrated graphics. She’s held on through moving across the country 4…no…5…? times. She’s been thrown around by a toddler, dropped countless times, had coffee spilled on her twice, has had one hard drive replacement and she’s served me the best she could even with my demands to play the latest games (though sometimes she just can’t) and use things like Photoshop with 10k x 10k files and render video in After Effects.
She’s put up with my abuse, but finally, she’s starting to fade. Her screen no longer works, her keyboard is dead, her hard drive is starting to develop a click, her dvd drive only likes to run half the time…when it decides to open, her hinges are broken, one of her USB ports is blackened after a mishap with a USB splitter overheating. She’s on her last leg and I have no idea what I’m going to do without her.
On top of that, my tablet, Olya, has been sick lately. She only likes to turn on half the time, her stylus right and left clicks rapidly at random points, she’s scratched and she’s frankly old. I bought her, a Bamboo Pen, near the end of their life cycle. Wacom released their new line about a year or so after I got her. She’s served me well in the time I’ve had her, but she’s always been a bit too small, too flimsy. It’s hard to draw when your screen translates from 24 inches(borrowing a monitor) to a 5 by 8 rectangle.
Hipsters! Flipsters! And finger-poppin’…*snap snap* daddies; knock me your lobes.
Now, I’m an artist of a very small modicum of talent. I’m not the best, but I’m certainly not the absolute worst. With this fact, I propose a trade. If I give you art, you give me money. It doesn’t have to be a lot, no, not at all. I’ll do simple sketches for you if you wish, for very cheap! Or whatever else you want. If you want to see some examples of my work here’s a link over to my blog where I’ve got a full list of all that as well as prices. I’ll also do writing commissions. I also am a semi-talented voice actor and I’ll gladly do a voice or two for whatever you’re recording.
I’m also not one above taking charity. If you’ve got some extra cash you don’t know what to do with, hit that little donate button, or go over here to this post where I’ve got a ChipIn set up. (as well as a list of the computer parts your money would go toward…and also a list of my goals and dreams for the next two years.)
So, if you’d like to help out an amateur artist down on his luck with a dying personal computational machine then by all means, please do, you won’t see me complaining.
But really though, if you’re reading this thank you for at least taking the time to do that and even if you can’t buy anything passing the word along would be a massive help too. Thanks, good day(or night, or morning…whenever you’re reading this.)

Happy Thursday, Chumblrs,
So last night, something happened that really kind of startled me and made me want to hug a bunch of people at the same time. I posted a voice meme and part of the meme was to shamelessly self-promote. So I promoted my art blog, located over on blogspot, and mentioned…
HELP NEOLUCKY GET A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT.
Last year, at Sakuracon, I shared a hotel room with Zetallis, and she told me that her friend might not be able to make it because she was undergoing dialysis - where they take your blood, clean if for you, and put it back in. That friend was Neolucky.
I’ve been on DA for over eight years, and although I never met her in person, Neolucky has helped out out many good friends of mine. For the past year, she has been getting treatment for late stage renal failure - that is, when your kidneys altogether stop working. If she gets this transplant, she can have a much better future. The Internet has a way of coming together and saving peoples’ lives. So I urge you to look at HelpHopeLive, the site above which provides a legitimate means for supporting Nicole.
Please re-blog. <3
I’ve already dropped some money in, but just to sweeten the pot - if you re-blog this (not just “like” but actually re-blog), I will enter you for a raffle for one of:
- A 18”x24” Canvas Print of your choice from my gallery.
- A copy of the Boiled Fish Studio Artbook (signed by me).
- A 27”x40” Official Movie Poster from Kung Fu Panda 2.
- Two DVDs OR One Blu-Ray of a DreamWorks movie(s) of your choice. Yes, as old as Prince of Egypt.
- A Chibi Keychain set (11 keychains).
So yes - five possible prizes you can win. If you want, I’ll sign your prize. Winners announced 12.5.2011 Get it? Got it? Good.
Not entering in the raffle, but Lucky get well soon dear.
Hi everyone, so as you might know my Mom and I run an Etsy for paintings of musicians, bands, nature and famous people, people from TV shows (Like The Beatles, Nirvana, Miles Davis, Marilyn Monroe, Green Day, Jim Morrison, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Jon Stewart, Freddie Mercury, Doctor Who and others.) and crafty stuff.
And right now my family is going through some really rough times with money, and it doesn’t help that the holidays are coming up. My Mom said the only way we’ll be able to pay for Christmas presents and everything is if we make money through Etsy, she’s trying to get a job but as you know jobs are scarce and my Dad is already working his butt off with his two businesses. We also do commissions so keep that in mind.
Now I know a lot of you are going through some tough times as well but if you could at least reblog and share our Etsy with people, it would really help. I will even follow you if you reblog this, just anything at all would help it really would.
Thank you so much for your time, really thank you, thank you, thank you. <3
